101 Baby Shower Themes

Many women get excited when they learn they’re pregnant. They do all kinds of planning and organizing – they decorate a nursery after months of preparation; they fill the dresser with baby clothes; maybe they even start a college fund. But there is one thing in particular that mothers can also look forward to after they get pregnant – their baby shower.

Baby showers are a way of celebrating the impending birth and they’re one of the most fun things a woman can do before giving birth. Inviting over many friends and the extended family and settling down for a party is all well and good, but before a baby shower is held, one thing must be decided: the baby shower theme. A baby shower theme adds something very special to the party.

The Best Baby Shower Themes

Picking the right baby shower theme can be a bit tricky; a lot depends on how much you actually know about the baby you’re having. If you have opted to discover the sex of your baby, that opens up the spectrum a bit when it comes to actually choosing a baby shower theme but if you haven’t there are still plenty of other options.

If you know the sex you can obviously do the blue or pink baby shower theme; that’s very traditional and many mothers prefer that kind of simplicity when it comes to their baby shower theme. If, however, you choose to go more gender neutral, either because you don’t know the gender or don’t want to go the pink/blue route, there are lots of themes to choose from.

For instance, there is the “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” theme, which uses stars and blue fabrics to simulate the night sky. Winnie The Pooh is also a go-to theme, especially as many mothers choose that theme for their actual nursery, meaning that you could theoretically match both the nursery and baby shower theme to each other.

There are a few baby shower themes that are much more common and well-established as well, including the pale-green theme. This baby shower theme is favored by those wishing to be gender neutral and is also common in nurseries. You can also try out the “ABC Learn With Me” baby shower theme or even a Candy Land theme!

If none of those baby shower themes interest you, you can also try some other common themes: the Little Lamb theme, once again a gender neutral choice; the Baby Bear theme, definitely one of the most popular; and if you really want to go in that direction, there are plenty of different sports or princess baby shower theme ideas you can choose from!
